The Pureland Foundation will be supporting a concert with the Chinese conductor Long Yu and the Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra at the Sheldonian Theatre in Oxford on February 27th 2016.
With compatriot violinist Vera Tsu, Long Yu joins the Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra to perform Bruch’s emphatic Violin Concerto No. 1. Dvořák’s lively Eighth Symphony.
Long Yu is the Music Director of the China Philharmonic and the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra and artistic director of the Beijing Music Festival.
Bruno Wang said, “I am delighted to be supporting a concert by the Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra with one of my favourite conductors, Long Yu. I know it will be a wonderful evening of live music.”
Bruno Wang is a Trustee of the Oxford Philharmonica, the resident orchestra of Oxford University, one of the leading orchestras in the UK. The Pure Land Foundation is one of main sponsors of the Oxford Philomusica’s Piano Festival and its scholarship programmes.
